About
When I was young, my family migrated to Australia from England.
To us Australia represented opportunity. Being here – in Tasmania – enabled me to pursue my love of art.
I became an art teacher, specialising in ceramics.
I taught pottery and 20th century art history to grade 11 and 12 students in Launceston for 8 years before returning to Hobart for further study at the Centre for the Arts. As part of my post graduate studies, I tackled the process of slip casting for the first time. I’ve been slip casting ever since.
I now work from my studio at home, combining family life with part-time teaching and a small business producing limited edition tableware to select outlets throughout Australia.
